Read Biography of Cleo Higgins Cleopatra Madonna “Cleo” Higgins was born on 30 April 1982 in Manchester, England, is an English R&B/soul and pop singer, dancer, songwriter and actress. Higgins is the lead singer of the girl group, Cleopatra.

Since leaving Cleopatra, Higgins has released her debut single “Feelin’ Like This” and is currently working on her debut album. Higgins has recorded two duets with tenor Russell Watson. The first duet “Someone Like You” was featured on Watson’s multi-platinum debut album The Voice and topped the U.S classical charts. She performed the duet both on tour with Watson, and on the National Lottery, at which time she was five months pregnant with her first child, Chika. Higgins and Watson collaborated again with a track called “The Best That Love Can Be”, on his third album, Reprise.

In 1990, Higgins headlined the Young Voices in Concert tour. 15,000 people attended the MEN Arena to watch Higgins and almost 7,000 choir members break the Guinness World Record for the largest choir ever assembled in the UK. There were 6,846 voices. The performance was aired on the BBC Television’s Songs of Praise

Higgins joined ITV1′s Songs Of Bond, a tribute to the songs of James Bond. She covered “For Your Eyes Only”. She has toured with Joe Budden, Russell Watson, Jagged Edge, Blue, Girls Aloud and also embarked on a university tour. Higgins has covered Kym Sims’ “Too Blind To See It”. Higgins has worked as a spokeswoman for CoverGirl.

It was reported recently that Cleopatra are to reform and are working on new material.

Higgins has two children, Chika Li Ché who was born in Sep 2001 and Taylor James McKenzie (TJ), with her long term partner, Marlon McKenzie who has appeared on the X-Factor. Cleo and Marlon have broken up they have “Come to the end of the road” and are still good friends and share time with both of their children.
